Audition Related - Please read carefully

PREAMBLE:
Before filing out the Online Application Form, carefully read the "Terms and conditions of Ballet Stage Audition". The fact of submitting the Application means that the applicant (the “Participant” or His/Her legal guardian or representative) understands and accepts all the conditions specified in the Terms and conditions ("General", and "Audition" Terms and Conditions), recognizes that all the obligations mentioned in the Terms and conditions must be fulfilled in a timely manner, and acknowledges that failure to fulfil these conditions may lead to the cancellation of the Application. Additionally, Participants accept the quoted "Declaration" Terms described in this document.


You must be 17 years of age by March 2024 and Graduated or be near Graduation in 2024 from a Professional Ballet School to Apply.

OR:
You must be an Experienced Professional Dancer (not older than 27 years of age at the time of Audition).

 

Basic Information:

  1. The Ballet Stage Audition is organized by Saltare Partners FZ-LLC to be referred to in this Agreement as the “Organiser”.

  2. The registered applicant or participant of the Ballet Stage Audition is to be referred to in this Agreement as the “Participant”.

  3. His/Her Parent or legal representatives or guardian of the applicants below 18 years of age will be referred to in this Agreement as the “Participant”.

  4. The Artistic Director of Audition is Denis Matvienko, Merited Artist of Ukraine, previously Art Director of Audition “Ballet of the Future”, Assistant Professor at the department of Classical and Pas de deux at Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, Artistic Director of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, Artistic Director of the National Opera and Ballet of Ukraine. Winner of four Grand Prix at international ballet competitions.

  5. The Goals of the Audition:

    • Creation of a unified platform, which serves as a professional industry benchmark for Ballet dancers.

    • Providing Ballet dancers with the opportunity to demonstrate their professional achievements to Artistic Directors or their official Representatives of multiple leading Ballet companies (to be referred to in this Agreement as the “Artistic Directors”) in view of getting a position within these companies.

  6. Ballet dancers, graduates or soon to be graduates of Ballet schools (colleges, academies, or institutions) aged 17 to 27 are invited to participate in the Audition. Participants under the age of 18 are represented by their parents, legal guardian, or representatives.

  7. Participants are fully responsible for fulfilling ALL the conditions of participation formulated in these Terms and Conditions.

  8. Before Audition, the selection of Participants is carried out. 

  9. The Audition is carried out online.

  10. Application for the Audition implies a full acceptance of the Terms & Conditions between the Parties: The Organiser and the Participant. This agreement is deemed read, understood, and accepted when the Participant submits their Application Form via the relevant website or other, including also if payments are made for the service.

  11. The deadline for registration of Participants is 31st December 2023, or once the number of accepted Participants reached its limit.

 

Application Process to Participate in the Audition:

  1. The Participant should complete an Online Application Form as available on the website of the Ballet Stage Audition (Application form available here). The Application Form includes a link for the required video of the Participant submitting the Form, including an optional password field if access to the video is protected. Required photos can also be uploaded via the Online Application Form. 

 

Video Requirements:

  1. The Participant must send a video recording of the variation performed in the studio. The variation is being prepared directly for participation in this Audition, the use of old recordings is not allowed.

  2. Performance of variation is possible both in a stage costume (preferable), and proper ballet attire. The use of “Makeup” is at the discretion of the Participant.

  3. Before performing the variation, the Participant greets the Jury and informs as follows: His/Her Full Name and Nationality. The variation should begin immediately after the greeting. Editing the introduction/greeting has been allowed for the variation video.

  4. Please note that a high-quality recording makes it possible to objectively evaluate the Participant and increases His/Her chances of a true or positive assessment by the Jury.

  5. Please ensure that your whole body is in the frame of the video, and you are dancing in a clear and safe space. You can record your video on a camera or a phone/tablet. For phone or tablet users, devices should be set horizontally. Do not use the zoom function as this can make the image quality unclear.

  6. Upload your video to a trusted file sharing website and include the link in your Application Form. Links to videos on public sites such as “YouTube” should be unlisted or password protected, but not marked private.
    We will need access to your video for some time, so please do not use any time-limited or expiring links or file sharing services that require downloads.

  7. Prior to uploading your video, rename your video file as follows (replace with your information):
    Age_First Name_Last Name_Variation Name

 

Photo Requirements:

  1. The Participant should upload two (2) color photographs with a clear background when filling out the Application Form. Images must be in high-resolution format.

  2. First photo – In Portrait format with clear background. “Selfies” are not acceptable.

  3. Second photo – Is a staged photo in a ballet position that shows the line of the body. ​
    The photograph should be taken in a ballet studio. Female's posing on pointe vs Males on half-fingers.

  4. Photos should be sized correctly, displayed the right way up.

  5. Include the Participants full name in the file name of the photograph - Use jpg, jpeg or png file format and make sure that individual images do not exceed 10MB in file size.

  6. Failure of providing the above mentioned content material in the requested format may automatically lead to disqualification of the registration and the processing fee or payment made will be non-refundable. In such cases the organizer is not obliged and may not immediately inform the Participant that He/She was disqualified but the Participant may request at own will further reasoning as to what triggered the disqualification.
     

General Information:

  1. Within 7 calendar days after submitting the Application, the Participant can change the submitted photos and video by sending new photos and video to info@balletstage.com

  2. A non-refundable Application Processing fee of AED 200 (incl. all taxes) which is approx. USD 55.00 must be paid via the Online Payment System when submitting the Application, or by bank transfer on request. 

  3. Ukrainian Participants can enter the Audition "Free of Charge" and should submit their Application Form with Passport copy but not proceed with the Payment Form.

  4. Participants do not provide a copy of their "Ukrainian Passport" may not be entitled to free admission into the Audition.

  5. All payments must be made in AED currency, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

  6. Any payments made by Bank Transfer must have any bank fees paid for by the Participant.

  7. Applications are accepted until 31st December 2023 or once the number of accepted Participants reached its limit.

  8. If you have difficulties with submitting the Online Application Form or Payment, then please contact us via the website Contact Form.

  9. The Audition Jury evaluates the professional level of the Participant and within 7 calendar days makes a decision on admission or non-admission to participation in the Audition. The Participant is notified of the Jury's decision by e-mail specified in the Application on 7th – 10th January 2024. Please note the jury's decision is understood as final and cannot be contested.

 

Procedures of "Audition" (Important):

  1. Participants, admitted by the Jury to Audition, confirm their participation in Audition by paying an Event Fee in the sum of AED 800 (incl. all taxes) which is approx. USD 218.00 within 20 calendar days from the date of the acceptance email notification letter (Until 30th January 2024). Failure to comply by the given deadline will result in the termination of the registration or participation. Fees are non-refundable nor transferable to any other Participant nor to any other Ballet Stage events. 

  2. Ukrainian Participants can enter the Audition "Free of Charge" and should submit their Application Form with Passport copy but not proceed with the Payment Form.

  3. Payment must be made using the Online Payment System or by Bank Transfer to the mentioned bank details provided in the acceptance email notification letter.

  4. All payments must be made in AED currency unless agreed otherwise in writing.

  5. Any payments made by Bank Transfer should have Bank Fees paid for by the Participant.

  6. By 20th February 2024 the Participant must submit additional video of class and optional classic and/or modern variation performed in the studio.

  • Grande assemble/Grand Jeté/Grande cabriole/Jeté entrelacé (one to choose from) (Ladies optional on demi-pointe)

  • En diagonal double tour en l’air to different positions (Gentlemen only)

  • Grand jeté en tournant manèges (Ladies optional)

  1. The class is being prepared directly for participation in this Audition, the use of old recordings is not allowed.

  2. Before performing the class, the Participant informs: Name, Nationality and School. The class begins immediately after the greeting

  3. The video can be edited by cutting parts of the different class exercises.

  4. Please note that a high-quality recording makes it possible to objectively evaluate the Participant and increases his chances of a true or positive assessment by the Artistic Directors of the companies or their official representatives.

  5. Please ensure that your whole body is in the frame of the video, and you are dancing in a clear and safe space.

  6. You can film your video on a camera or a phone/tablet. For phone or tablet users, devices should be set horizontally.

  7. Do not use the zoom function as this makes the image unclear.

  8. Upload your video to a trusted file sharing website and send the link via mail to the provided email address. Links to videos on public sites such as “YouTube” should be unlisted or password protected, not marked private. We will need access to your video for some time, so please do not use any time-limited or expiring links or file sharing services that require downloads.

  9. Prior to uploading your video, rename your video file as follows (replace with your information): Age_First Name_Last Name_Class.

  10. Failure of providing the above mentioned content material in the requested format may automatically lead to disqualification of the registration and the processing fee or payment made will be non-refundable. In such cases the organizer is not obliged and may not immediately inform the Participant that He/She was disqualified but the Participant may request at own will further reasoning as to what triggered the disqualification.

  11. The Artistic Directors are provided with all materials sent by the Participant on 1st March 2024 and have 2 weeks (until 15th March 2024) to review provided materials.

  12. The Artistic Directors may select and invite shortlisted Participants for an interview (online). Additionally, some Artistic Directors may wish to send the Participant the video of one of their company classes and ask the Participant to repeat the same class with the same music and/or may require candidates to audition in person after the Ballet.Stage audition.

  13. Please note, Audition Participation and any interview invitations do not guarantee getting an employment or job offer.

 

Applicable Rules for the use of Photo, Video and Audio Content:
Materials of “Participants” of the “Audition”

  1. The Participant grants the Organiser the unlimited right to use photo, video, audio content materials and the Name of the Participant of the Audition for advertising materials of the Ballet Stage Audition including brochures, newspaper articles, books, television and for commercial purposes.

  2. Video and Photo content materials are not for sale and are the property of the Organiser.

 

Terms of Refund for Paid Fees:

  1. The refund of the registration fee for participating in the online Audition is allowed ONLY in case of illness or injury and only if the Participant presents medical documents of licensed medical organizations, drawn up on the official form, certified by the Head of the medical organization and the appropriate seal. The medical document must include the dates of the injury/illness and the diagnosis. Long-term injuries/illnesses resulting from previous or old chronic injuries/illnesses will not be considered valid reasons for a refund.

  2. Medical certificates and requests for reimbursement must be submitted no later than February 10, 2024. Medical certificates of injuries or illnesses that occurred after 10th February 2024, will not be accepted.

  3. Confidential medical information provided by the Participant will not be shared with any other third party.  

  4. Any other provided reason does not entitle you to a refund.

  5. Maximum reimbursement of AED 500 will be given to the injured/ill Participant in case He/She is able to provide all the necessary documents by the time mandated.

 

The Participant "Declaration" (Effective on Application):
I hereby declare that all the information that I have provided is complete and accurate.

I hereby grant permission to the production company, and related Audition sponsors, organisers, management, third party affiliates and producers to use any photographs and video content of me without expecting payment or compensation for the purpose of public relations, marketing, TV, and advertising. 
I understand that by making the associated payments I am hiring a third party Saltare Partners FZ-LLC (referred to in this agreement as "Organiser") to perform services and make this event possible, and to enable me to participate in the event which will be observed by multiple Artistic Directors who represent professional establishments or companies.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser and its third party affiliates from any legal claims that may or may not be described within the General Terms & Conditions and/or Audition Terms & Conditions. Should I not agree with any of the terms and conditions mentioned herein, for any reason, then I am aware that I should not proceed or initiate an application or payment for the referenced Audition.
